It's typical or customary for the home seller to pay a Real Estate Agent between 5 & 6% of the sale price of their home at the close of escrow. The listing agent will split that commission with the buyer's agent, usually 50-50, so they each get between 2.5 % & 3%. Then out of that amount, or percentage, each agent will pay their Broker fees, which is usually a percentage of the transaction. Whatever is remaining after all fees are taken is the Agent net commission.
